We are delighted to announce that the Beauvoir Group have sponsored a week long campaign with Island FM to promote this year’s Mental Health Awareness week. The week begins on the 9th of May and will run until the 15th.
Maddy Diligent, marketing, events and fundraising lead said ‘Mental Health Awareness week is an annual event started by the Mental Health Foundation 21 years ago. Each year the foundation continues to set the theme and it has now grown to become one of the biggest awareness weeks across the UK and globally. Of course. poor mental health isn’t something that happens only during one week of the year, but this focus allows us all to have a wider conversation about the importance of looking after our mental health and wellbeing.
Mental Health Foundation in the UK chose loneliness as their theme for the year. During the pandemic loneliness has affected more people than ever, having a huge impact on both physical and mental health. Part of our work at Guernsey Mind focusses on connection between people in our community. This is fundamental to protecting our mental health. We all have a part to play in helping tackle loneliness.
We are incredibly thankful for the support Beauvoir has provided with the assistance of Island FM. The campaign means even more coverage of the importance of this week and a real focus on mental well-being and how we can help connect with members of our community who are experiencing loneliness.’
Wayne Bupitt, Director, Beauvoir Group said “Beauvoir are delighted to sponsor this year Mental Health Awareness Week with Guernsey Mind. The theme for this year’s campaign is loneliness and we know how this can affect any of us at any time, especially in the current climate. We want to help Guernsey Mind raise awareness and enable them to continue to support the people of the Bailiwick and to keep doing the amazing job that they are doing.”
